FAQS
If you have any further questions feel free to call us at (248)-688-9816 or contact us through email at contact@jordanmac.com.
You can enroll in our ongoing courses at any time. We recommend starting on Part 1 of the month so you don't miss out on learning any of the choreography. Enrolled students will have access to weekly videos to review choreography during their choreraphy. Each of our classes are 55 minutes long, and we recommend arriving 5 minutes early to each.
Months Alternate between technique months and Choreography Months.
Choreography Months have 4 Parts:
Part 1 - We've chosen a new song for the month ahead. Our lesson kicks off with warm-ups and foundational exercises. Students will delve into the first segment of choreography, laying the groundwork for their dance piece.
Part 2 - We'll review the choreography taught previously and then introduce new elements to add to the routine. Students refine dance moves and expand their dance vocabulary as we progress forward!
Part 3 - We'll take a comprehensive look at the choreography learned in both Week 1 and Week 2, ensuring everyone is comfortable with the steps. Students will learn the final segment of choreography, completing this month's dance routine.
Part 4 - An exhilarating culmination of your efforts throughout the course. Our dedicated staff transforms the studio with ambient lighting, setting the stage for a memorable celebration of your progress and dedication. This week, we focus on perfecting the full dance routine, with instructors assisting students in refining their stylization and polishing details. Part 4 is a favorite among students, who often dress in their favorite dance attire for the final filming of their routines. This recorded video serves as both a testament to their growth and a cherished keepsake. Students can download this final dance video to track their progress and hold onto the memories of their journey with us. Let's make this Part 4 one to remember!
**Please Note: Being filmed is optional and students are more than welcome to step out of any filming we do. We want all of our students to feel completely comfortable.
All we require is a positive attitude, a smile, and plenty of water... but we also recommend that you dress as if you are going to the gym. The more comfortable you feel, the better you dance! Our location has restrooms for you to change in if necessary.
HIP-HOP CLASS: Clean sneakers work nicely. (Clean meaning no mud/dirt stuck to the bottom of your shoes.)
HEELS CLASS: If you are taking a heels class, you can pack a pair of shoes with heels so you can test them out in class. Shoes with ankle support are suggested. You do not need to wear heels if you are not comfortable in them. Sneakers will work just fine.
CLASSICAL STYLES OF DANCE: Ballet shoes, socks, or bare foot for contemporary.
Students generally arrive about 5 minutes before class starts. We have waiting areas for you to relax in before the start of class.
Each style of dance requires different types of clothing and footwear, but you should wear what is most comfortable for you. If you do not have any of the recommended clothing or footwear listed below, you are able to purchase them at our studio. Here is a breakdown of what is recommended for each class:
Hip-Hop & Street: Baggy tops and bottoms with rubber sole shoes, preferably with smooth bottoms.
Jazz: Recommended attire includes a leotard, tights, t-shirt, leggings, and Jazz Shoes.
Heels: Any clothing that is comfortable and makes you feel sexy. We recommend a 2-3 inch heeled boot that laces up for ankle support, or a kitten heel if you are new to Heels dance.
Ballet: Recommended attire includes a leotard, Ballet wrap skirt, tights, and ballet slippers.
Contemporary: Form fitted clothing like leotards and tights with a pirouette shoe, cotton socks, sole protectors, or bare feet.
All of our dance classes are 55 minutes long.
Jordan Mac Adult Dance is Michigan's #1 Studio for Adult Dance Classes. Although we do sometime have teenagers attend classes, our main age ranges of students are in their 20's 30's 40's and 50+. If you are under 18 years of age, we will need a parent/guardian’s signature on our liability waiver before class, but we will accept younger, trained, mature teenage dancers.
Please Note: We use music that may contain profanity/harsh language in class and will not change/edit music for minors.
Jordan Mac Adult Dance Enrollment is a course system designed for students to learn choreography and technique! Enrollment carries a monthly fee of $79 per class, with a one-time $45 Registration Fee and the ability to cancel at any time with a one week (7-day) notice. Payments are processed at the beginning of each month.
By enrolling in classes at Jordan Mac Adult Dance, students will have a variety of added benefits compared to the drop-in student. With enrollment, students will enjoy lower payments, access to automatic payments, weekly classes, end of class videos to practice to, and more. Check out our Enrollment Details!
For your convenience, we film a class video at the end of each class. The intent of weekly class videos is to give students the opportunity to review their choreography for the next week(s), to self-assess areas of improvement, and practice performing on camera. If you miss a class, this also gives you a chance to view the choreography that you missed and give you an opportunity to review and practice it.
Final videos (also known as Part 4 videos) are filmed at the end of the forth week of class. It will be the last time students dance in class to the choreography that they worked on all month. Students are welcome to download and save videos as a keep sake for years to come.
Students that are consistent each week will learn dance technique and choreography in a focused environment. The continuous class format is more likely to result in skill retention and improvement than a standard short-term drop-in class option. Plus it is always nice to save money with the enrollment discount that we offer.
Enrolled students are billed on a month-to-month basis. Students are billed on the 1st of the month for their courses. Courses only cost $79 a month per class.

What If I Cancel On or After the 23rd?
If your cancellation request is submitted on or after the 23rd, your upcoming tuition payment will still be processed on the 1st. This will be your final payment, and you may continue attending classes through that paid month.
How Do I Submit a Cancellation Request?
Log into the Student Portal and complete the Cancellation Request Form located under Account Settings.
Do You Offer Refunds?
No. Monthly tuition payments are non-refundable. It is the student's responsibility to submit cancellation requests by the required deadline.

Due to class size allowance, students can not make up their missed class at another class time. We upload videos of the choreography learned from each class (usually within 24 hours) to your Student Login on our website so you can practice what you may have missed. You will also review the choreography in the next class. Keep in mind there is no new choreography learned during Part 4.
Can I Freeze My Enrollment?
Yes! We offer enrollment freezes for 1–5 months at a time for currently enrolled students.
A freeze allows you to temporarily pause your monthly tuition while holding your place with the studio, so you can return without paying a new registration fee.
Important Deadlines
Freeze requests must be submitted by the 22nd of the month to prevent the next month's tuition charge.
If a freeze request is submitted on or after the 23rd, the upcoming month's tuition will still be charged on the 1st, and your freeze will begin after that month is completed.
How Do I Request a Freeze?
Simply log into the Student Portal and complete the Freeze Request Form located under Account Settings.
What Happens When My Freeze Ends?
Your enrollment will automatically reactivate at the end of your selected freeze period, and your monthly tuition will resume on the 1st of the following month.
Please note that freezes are intended for temporary breaks. If you do not plan to return, please submit a cancellation request instead.
