Children are the future—“yes to the young!”—but it is definitely possible to still have tons of fun exploring or touching up your dance skills with peers of your own. Some may even argue that it isn’t just possible, but more likely, even. One of the goals of Jordan Mac Studios is to provide exciting experiences for all who seek them–and find us. Our drop-in adult dance classes do just that. We pride ourselves on our versatility in the classes that we offer, but also in those we offer them to.
Last week, we hosted our latest drop-in hip hop classes, offered at beginner, intermediate, and advanced skill levels. The energy was amazing. One of our more regular participants initially brought her daughters into dance, but after a short while, she couldn’t resist joining in. Being that she’d only planned to watch, she had no sneakers to swap into, and despite multiple offers for an extra pair (to which she replied a simple, “Nah, I think I’m good”), she ended up showing off her skills by following the entire hip hop routine in her heels! No sweat.
The plan was to allow her girls a night of fun together, where she would likely just chaperone, but it quickly turned into a chance to enjoy herself and feed a passion she had as well.
We encourage this! Life is too full of tensions and stressors for us not to advocate for an experience like our drop-in classes, where you can release and leave it all on the dance floor.
Don’t cheat yourself, treat yourself.
Adult drop-in dance classes are unusually difficult to come by in our region, but we’re working to change that by leading with a strong example of what versatile adult dance classes could and should look and feel like.
The energy, the community, the possibility: it’s all there. Wait, correction. It’s all here!
